The MicroFire Pioneer tactical flashlight features a patented optical reflector-lens combination that achieves a variable focus from an extremely narrow 2.5° out to 30°. At 230 lumens, more than 90% of the light generated by the 3 watt Osram LUW W5AM LED is transmitted by the optical system in a bright, hard-edged beam, effective up to 250 yards. By twisting the focus ring beneath the bezel, the operator is able to smoothly transfer from spot to flood focus. A tactical button switch at the rear of the Pioneer selects high or low brightness mode. The switch operates with slight pressure as a momentary on/off switch, or when fully depressed as a constant on/off. A second press of the switch sends the light to low brightness mode. The Pioneer operates with two CR-123A batteries (included) with a run time of up to 2 hours in high brightness, or 20 hours in low brightness mode.
